Angry Birds 3 release date Takes Flight in 2027 With New Faces and Big Hype

The birds are back—and this time, they’ve brought some major Hollywood heat.

The Angry Birds 3 release date is officially set for January 29, 2027, as Paramount Pictures takes over the franchise. This marks a major shift from the first two films, which were distributed by Sony Pictures. With a new studio and a star-packed cast, this upcoming film promises to shake up the Angry Birds world in a big way.

But the studio switch isn’t the only headline-grabber.

The cast for Angry Birds 3 is loaded with returning fan favorites like Jason Sudeikis, Josh Gad, Rachel Bloom, and Danny McBride—but the newcomers are where things get exciting. Joining the chaos are stars like Emma Myers, Keke Palmer, Lily James, Walker Scobell, and Marcello Hernandez, giving the animated sequel some fresh energy and serious star power.

The creative team behind the second film is also returning. Director John Rice and writer Thurop Van Orman are back in action, along with composer Heitor Pereira, known for his vibrant musical scores in animated hits.

Behind the scenes, animation is handled by DNEG Animation, while video game powerhouse Rovio and its new owner Sega are closely involved in production. With Sega also riding high on its Sonic the Hedgehog movie franchise, 2027 is shaping up to be a landmark year for video game films—with Sonic 4 and The Legend of Zelda also set to release.

The Angry Birds movie series has already grossed over $500 million globally, and with this lineup, the third installment could be its biggest yet.

Whether you’re team Red, Bomb, or Chuck—get ready. The slingshot is locked and loaded.
