This fresh storyline, arriving May 22, 2026, promises a brand-new interactive experience where guests can team up with Mando, babysit Grogu, and chase bounties across iconic planets like Coruscant, Tatooine, Bespin, and Endor.

Unlike the upcoming The Mandalorian & Grogu movie, this new mission takes a unique route but still features the beloved characters Din Djarin and Grogu. Players will dive into a high-stakes galactic adventure alongside Hondo Ohnaka, who’s caught wind of a shady deal on Tatooine between rogue ex-Imperials and pirates.
Your crew’s mission? Join forces with Mando and Grogu to intercept the villains and secure a valuable bounty. According to Walt Disney Imagineering’s Asa Kalama, this updated ride is more than just a retelling—it’s a fully reimagined journey that will include critical choices affecting where you go and how the story unfolds.
Grogu in the Engineer’s Care
One of the most exciting changes? The Engineer role is getting a serious upgrade. In this version of Smugglers Run, the Engineer isn’t just pushing buttons—they’ll actually be in charge of communicating with Grogu throughout the mission. Imagine being on a comm channel with The Child, guiding him through cockpit chaos while Mando is off handling some bounty hunter business.
“Asa Kalama shared, ‘We think it’s going to be a ton of fun. There may be times when Mando has to deboard the Razor Crest, and Grogu… might get a little happy on the control panel,’” according to the official Star Wars blog.
Expect playful moments, unexpected interruptions, and a whole lot of “awws” as Grogu steals the spotlight while you keep the ship on track.
